About

Hello Montreal and visitors to the city!

My name is Olya and I am a celiac. I found this out recently enough that I know what a joy it is to go out and enjoy an awesome meal, especially in a culinary gem that is Montreal, so being able to keep doing it is very important to me (plus I hate (suck at) cooking, if there is no gluten, it always ends up tasting like cardboard)

So this misery forced me to create this website where I document restaurants that pass my test for taste and good vibes. I am extremely picky when it comes to service and making sure I am being treated with respect, so sometimes you can watch me live on Instagram ranting about long wait times or a disrespectful waiter. Follow if you like drama (just kidding) I do regular updates about new finds (@glutenfreemontreal)

If you are more into Facebook, you can follow me thereĀ https://www.facebook.com/glutenfreemontrealca/

If you are visiting and need a quick suggestion, don’t hesitate to contact me, I am always happy (and get overly excited) to suggest a place to eat in our yummy Montreal!

    Karen - Olya,
I just wanted to say thank you, very much, for this website! So much of our socializing, is centered around food. I didn’t realize how much until I was diagnosed with gluten intolerance. And suddenly it felt like I couldn’t eat out at all and that takes a big chunk out of ones social life. For me eating out was like trying to navigate a mine field. But with this website of yours, you’ve opened up a part of my life, for me again, that I thought might have been gone for good. So, thank you, thank you for this website and all the thought and effort that you’ve put into it.ReplyCancel

      yumsterlife - Karen,

Thank you so much for your kind comment!!! Montreal is surely getting better and more respectful towards gluten free customers, these are exciting times. I have many more posts to post about restaurants that now welcome us šŸ™‚

And i know EXACTlY how you feel about feeling socially awkward when being in a restaurant where you can’t really order anything but tea and greens without a dressing:)ReplyCancel

    Stephanie - Hi Olya,

We are Mimi & Stephanie (Mi & Stu) and we’ve been big fans of your website!

You might be interested to know that we’ve recently launched an online store and thought you’d like to take a look. We’d also love it if you’d come to our place for a visit (and some free samplesā€¦.)

Or, if thereā€™s a business address for us to send a care package to, it would be our pleasure.

We look forward to meeting you!
